Online Trading (codex)
The Canadian Online Diamond Exchange (or CODEX ) system, is an online diamond and gemstone listing and trading platform. CODEX includes a standardised inventory repository of all the Bourse's diamond dealers.
When looking for a stone onCODEX , diamond dealers and retailers can employ both passive and active search strategies. Passive searches include the ability to browse through the entire inventory database, or to search for a particular stone according to a variety of parameters or features.

Users may also post a general or a targeted request for a specific type of stone—a process that we refer to as active searching. If for example, a diamond retailer would like to obtain a stone that is not currently listed in the system or alternatively, would like to compare products or prices—that retailer could post a specific BUY-REQUEST into the system. All buy-requests would be listed on the main page of CODEX , and propagated directly to the Bourse's dealers using either through EMAIL or SMS . A retailer or dealer who post system wide requests can be assured, that all Bourse’s dealers are made aware of their particular request.
