From Tel-Aviv to Shanghai and from Antwerp to Dubai, the diamond bourses of the world form the axis around which national diamond industries rotate. In some ways Canada's diamond industry has been slower to mature—waiting until 2010 to open its own diamond trading hub. As a result, the Diamond Bourse of Canada has faced a unique challenge: to demonstrate to a population of traders, who have hitherto operated without a central trading hub or association, the direct and indirect benefits that can be accrued through the use of a trade facilitating entity such as a diamond bourse.
